We are looking forward to honoring our local veterans on Veterans Day on Friday, November 11, 2022. City offices will be closed. We will be releasing a special video on Veterans Day that we will post here.

Thank you all so much for participating in our Hometown Hero Project. We loved seeing the banners honoring veterans line Nieman from Shawnee Mission Parkway to 55th Street and along a stretch of Johnson Drive for all these months. If you haven't checked it out, we also have an interactive map showing all the banners and where they are placed at cityofshawnee.org/hometownhero.

• Banners will be available from Monday, November 28 through Friday, December 23.

• Pickup will be at the Civic Centre at 13817 Johnson Drive Monday-Fridays.

• Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8am-9pm and Friday from 8am-5pm.
