The City of Shawnee is proud to present the 2021 budget. Staff members have been presenting the proposed budget to Council through a series of meetings that started in early June. The Governing Body voted 8-0 to formally adopt the City Manager’s recommended budget at the City Council meeting on July 27.
While we are experiencing an unprecedented time because of the COVID-19 pandemic, City leaders stand to make important, strategic decisions to keep Shawnee moving forward.
Here are some of the highlights of the 2021 budget.
- $14.6 million investment into fire facility renovations including Fire Station 71 at 6501 Quivira
- Final plans to change all City streetlights to LED
- $4.4 million in reduced expenditures due to COVID-19
