At the December 19, 2016 Planning Commission meeting, the applicant received site plan and special use permit approval to construct a self-storage facility that includes residential quarters for an overnight manager who will live on site.The project will be located on the south side of Shawnee Mission Parkway, between the BNSF railrway and Martindale Road.
The property is zoned PI (Planned Industrial).The first phase of construction will include a three-story climate controlled building that includes the residential dwelling unit and leasing office, as well as the eastern building number two. In all, the first phase of construction will equal 84,767 square feet.

The final plat for the project was approved by the Planning Commission at the June 5, 2017 meeting. The property has now been cleared and preliminary site grading is underway. The plat is in the process of being recorded and once that occurs, the building permit will be issued for the project.
