Operation Secure Shred, Prescription Drug Take Back & Eyeglass Collection

Get ready to protect your identity, prescriptions and the planet!

Join us Saturday, October 21st from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Splash Cove parking lot (5800 King Street) for the City’s 7th Annual Fall Shredding Event.

Held in conjunction with “America Recycles Day”, PROSHRED will be helping you to safely dispose of your confidential documents. All shredded documents are then recycled. The service is free but there is a recommended donation of $5 for a regular file box and $10 for a large file box, which helps offset the cost of shredding. Any remaining donations will benefit the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund.

The Police Department will also be on hand to ensure the safe disposal of any unused prescription drugs.

The Shawnee Lions Club is doing something new this year. Members will be collecting eyeglasses to support the Lions Recycle for Sight initiative that provides eyeglasses to those in need.

Anyone coming to the event should enter the parking lot at 57th Terrace and King where drivers will be directed to the appropriate line.
