The Information Technology Department is an internal department, which operates under the City Manager. Department staff provide expertise in the areas of Technical Operations, Network, GIS, and Application & Web Development.
It is the mission of the Information Technology Department to manage our hardware and software resources in an effective and efficient manner, in a way that maintains and promotes the confidence of the City staff and citizens that we serve; provide service and support to all City departments; assist users in the effective and efficient utilization of our systems; ensure that information and system resources are accessible and usable by maintaining system up time and availability; and ensure the integrity of applications and data by maintaining strong security and system recovery procedures.

The Center for Digital Government (CDG) has announced the winners of the 2016 Digital Cities Survey. Now in its 15th anniversary year, the annual survey recognizes cities using technology to improve citizen services, enhance transparency and encourage citizen engagement.
“This year’s top digital cities are using technology to ensure citizens can meaningfully interact with city government more easily than any other time in history,” said Todd Sander, executive director of the Center for Digital Government. “From open data portals to enhanced connectivity and mobile platforms, this year’s top-ranked cities are actively promoting transparency, encouraging citizen participation and making it easier for people to do business with government. Congratulations to the winners!"
