Brandon Kenig was sworn into office as a Ward IV Councilmember on May 11, 2015 to fill a vacancy from Ward IV. He currently serves as the president of the council.

Brandon is a lifelong resident of Johnson County and has lived in Shawnee for over 12 years. He graduated from Creighton University with Bachelor's Degrees in Marketing and Political Science. He also completed course work at George Washington University.

Brandon currently serves as Marketing Director for Curtin Property Company, a real estate firm specializing in multi-family residential and mixed-used commercial development. As a technology specialist and digital marketing consultant, Brandon previously worked for Cox Automotive, AMC Entertainment, iModules Software, and MindMixer. He also previously served as a staffer to U.S. Senator Jerry Moran.

Councilmember Kenig is the immediate past president of the Kansas Young Republicans, and most recently served as President of the Seven Hills Farms Home Owners Association. He also served for four years as an appointee on the Johnson County Heritage Trust Grant Review Board. He's a graduate of the Men's Leadership Series, sits on the Creighton University KC Alumni Board, currently serves as a Republican Precinct Committeeman, and is actively involved with the Kansas Search Engine Marketing Association and KC Digital Drive. Brandon is also the founder and president of Brandaway Digital LLC.

In 2017, Brandon was appointed to the National League of Cities' Information Technology & Communications (ITC) Committee, which develops federal policy positions around telecommunications and broadband issues for America's cities and advocates on their behalf before Congress.
